SS14 is pretty well known for a few things when it comes to food. Chinese Nasi Lemak at is quite famous in the afternoon at REstaurant Wong Soon Kee and when it comes to night then it had turn into streets of Bak Kut Teh where you can find at least a handful here and all have their own crowd.
Have not met my friend for quite a while then came here to try out one of it base on their recommendation.
The usual we will order Dry Bak Kut Teh with lean meat @ RM 11. Turns out to be pretty good as slightly spicy, as they add in chili padi in it and the thick soy sauce gravy that cook along is slightly caramelise and aromatic.
One of my favourite is Sour & Spicy Vegetable (Small) @ RM 6. Its sour enough with mild spicy, enough to entice your tongue and it was gone within seconds.
Bak Kut Teh (mix) @ RM 11, as to me the most important is the soup base. Its another subjective matter as some like strong herbal taste and some is mild. For me I definately prefer strong. However this soup base is medium . Not too strong with herbal taste that many would prefer.
They have an option of choosing white rice or oily rice. Of course choose their oily rice which is much more fragrant.
