Siew Kee Pork Noodle at Manjalara Kepong is one of the famous pork noodle in Kepong this neighborhood. After I posted in my stories only got to know it is a few of my friends regular lunch place. I find that this is not your regular Pork Noodle soup place which is a bit unique. I find its a kind of combination of local x east malaysia like Sabah or Sarawak style.
it is a simple comfort food and the store had been operating for more than 15 years already at the same location.
Here are some of the sparer part for you to chose or you want all in like mine?
For soup base I find it normal, if you order bee hoon, the taste is covered up. Soup base taste could not taste as prominent as the dry seperate version.Since I observe alot people order the dry noodle, I decided to try one portion for dry and another portion soup base. Dry pork noodle – Koey Teow Mee with all pig spare part.
Soup base is great as I tasted there is a hint of “chinese wine” or siew weng chow in the soup base that give its uniqueness. Pork parts are all cook to perfettion, soft part where it is needed. Missing out is pork intestine. then that would be perfect.
Koey teow noodle is different as when it was serve, I believe it is drench with some fresh pork oil as the aroma of it is very prominent and serve with some sweet soy sauce, some other mixture and pork lard. I find this pretty good. Noodle and gravy itself is on the sweet end with pig oil taste quite prominent.
Overall, I find it not too bad for a comfort food around the area. Do not mind to come back again as I want to try their Yee Mee Next. Is this the best? every one have their own preference taste. I find it quite worth to give it a try as not the usual ordinary style.
