While we have sometime to kill after our brunch before heading to airport, then stumble upon this Sanpoutei Ramen at Orchard Road that mention its origins from Niigata.
Read some reviews before heading in and it seems that Niigata Shoyu Ramen is the outlet specialty. This soup base is also my favourite as it is hard to find nice shoyu base soup rame in KL.
Sanpoutei originates from Niigata which is north of Tokyo since 1967. Their signature broth broth is boiled for six hours using vegetables, chicken, pork bone and 2 types of imported ingredients from Japan which is dried sardine.
Japanese chef at work and he seems to be very particular in every bowl that serve out which is good thing.
seating space here is not huge.
Apparently their ramen noodle is made fresh daily . .
and on my dining, it seems that quite number of Japanese diners are here.
As we are quite full, we just order a bowl to test it out. Always love shoyu base because of the simplicity flavour of it. Love the taste of shoyu base although not so prominent in yet, yet soup base is slightly thicker compare to what I had before and it taste pretty good too, with hint of sweetness from its cooking broth.
I believe my ramen is slightly over cook as it is quit soft or I expected it to be medium texture and slightly chewy. Or maybe the cooking method in here is meant to be in this texture. Slightly thicker compare to what I had in KL. Love the pork slices chasu as cook to perfection. They torch on the meat and love the light burnt taste, mild oily and texture is just perfect.
Not too bad for a shoyu base ramen.
