One of a classic recommendation by my friend, indeed turns out to be a great food hunting for a Malaysian classic breakfast. Little did I know that Warung Pak Hassan is famous store in Kampung Baru for his specialty and guess what is it? Roti Canai with Chicken Feet. Usually we have our roti canai with sambal, dal or ikan kari but at this warung is with a special curry recipe of Pak Hassan with add on chicken feet that makes this his signature item in his stall in this whole street.
This is a warung that had been operate around 70 years. Pak Hassan said, he establish this store when he was young along with his so called before girlfriend and now his wife to run this place all these years.
Not only well known for his roti but also his classic style nasi lemak. A store that is famous among the office crowd here and be prepare to queue if you are there early during peak hours. This warung is a self service joint where you queue and pick up your item, pay at the counter then sit.
A mixture of dough that the owner prepare himself too. You can see that the texture is very different from other stores already.
This is your nasi lemak self service counter. Take a plate, a slice of banana leave, then the amount of rice you need. I ask the owner what is good, he told me all is his signature.
This is Pak Hassan specialty. You pick a mini plate at the side and take the amount of chicken feet that you like.
Love the roti canai kosong as it is soft, fully and crips. I had 2 by myself with mix curry and was there for 2 breakfast days in a row. RM 1 per piece
At first I did not want to take the nasi lemak, but looking at the lady next to me enjoying her every bite then we decided to try out too. It is good! I took Ayam Masak Merah and Cuttle Fish. All cook to perfection and of course a sunny side up. Sambal is different from others, as you can taste the spices of chili, mild spicy with sweet end for Pak Hassan version, and I did my usual is a mix curry ontop of my Nasi Lemak. Nasi Lemak here is fragrant with pandan and mild santan yet it is dry enough to make it pieces.
Love their chicken feet as it is so soft and fragrant that the curry taste blends into it. Slightly inconsistant as Saturday was slightly hard and Sunway as cook to perfection.
This is Pak Hassan Signature Roti with Chicken Leg.
My mix curry. Curry here is mild spicy yet is heads towards more on fragrant spices side.
My brunch for the day.
Parking here sucks, so be prepare to park at the road side and to watch out for your car. My total bill for the day was RM 18. I guess I got rip-off, and also was told by some of the readers that this place is well known to “pancung” on selected people. So eat at your discretion.
Base on calculation, my simple nasi lemak cost me easily RM 8-RM 12 which is absurd!

the place doesnt pancung ppl. they just dont tell you that the more chicken feet/part you take, the more theyll charge. 🙂 screw the chicken feet and crap. take curry sauce only, then youll see the difference.
