Those who are staying nearby Mt.Kiara area sure do know that 1 Mont Kiara now is going on a upgrading works for the past few months and they are on the verge of completion. Under this new renovation, a few brands also being attracted as one of the tenant such as H&M and other few brands. No doubt for F&B, they have better selections now with Pasta Zanmai & Sushi Zanmai also part of their new tenants. Ramen had been a big hit back 2 years ago when Menya Musashi open its door to Malaysia and now we have more choices to hunt for. Menya Kamikaze is one of the latest ramen shop under Menya Musahsi Group that had open its another new ramen shop to public about a month ago when I came by shop for clothing on my vacation. This shop serve pretty authentic Ramen noodle.
[Updated 3/1/2017: Reopen of Menya Kamikaze seems to be take over by a new Operator and taste and menu had change]
This shop sure do attracts me to pay a visit as their interior is very similiar to those in Tokyo, Japan as they have bar counter with small eatery area.
Its new in the area and had late lunch over last weekend to make it convenient to pay a visit. As you enter the shop, you will be greeted by the two main Japanese Ramen Chef in the counter with their friendly floor crew.
When I was in Toyko, few weeks back, I choose to sit at the bar counter as can see them prepare all those Delicious food.
Its a very simple menu with a few types of soup base offering such as Origina, Miso or Spicy version. To my suprise, this shop offering is consider one of the cheapest Ramen in town.
This are the normal condiments that usually will be provided on the table for you to do some add ons.
What attract me the most is their huge Roasted Pork that smells so good and sure its in my ordering list.
Order Special Miso Soup Paste Ramen @ RM 20 as consider one of their signature.
Serve with 1 pcs roasted pork, cabbage, beans sprout, Chinese chives, onion & corns.
Noodle serve in here are thin ramen noodles, and soup is pretty mild, one good thing is that their miso soup base is not really salty.
My order would consider as the super star order – Spicy Pork Soup Ramen (KAMIKAZE size) @ RM 22 – Serve with 2 thick slices of roast pork, egg, spring onion, bamboo shoots, spring onions, black fungus & seaweed.
Its serve with thick ramen that cook to my liking, springy, with light chewy and its cook to perfection.
This soup base is totally different compare to miso soup base or any other ramen shop that I have had in Klang Valley. Its very similiar to the ones that I had in Tokyo that is quite famous ramen shop in Ikebukuro area. This spicy soup broth is thick and pack with punch as the soup base is very aromatic yet not really spicy. Loving it.
This is what attract me the most, their fresh roast – Roast Pork from the oven, with the fats is near melt into your mouth, pork meat is so soft and well marinated that you would need 2 pieces just right enough to satisfy you.
Everything was so perfect that the egg turns to be quite disappointing or kill the noodle. Its suppose to be runny egg yolk.
Anyhow, if you are looking for a cheaper Ramen Noodle option with something different, then Spicy Pork Noodle is one of my reocmmendation and its worth to give it a try for such price. Highly Recommended! This ramen shop sure emerge as one of my top 4 recommendation.
