A place that used to be Neo Tamarind have now transform to their new name The FOOK KL. A light touch of transformation had made this place into Modern Chinese Cuisine dining area. As they are rushing to complete and to be ready for Chinese New Year Gathering or reunion dinner, they are now offering a menu of RM188++/couple.
Interior looks good and especially with a huge mural in the new dining area that make it quite cool.
Chinese New year menu must order with a FOOK’s Yee Sang @ RM88++ for medium or RM118++ for large.
Star
Mushroom Bao. A bao that is made, paint like mushroom and stuff with mushroom filling. Nice Technical skills.
Trio of bites. Was told to eat from Left to right. Starting with a mini cone stuffed with raw tuna, spicy century egg salad with cucumber and finish off with Kimchi.
Seafood Bisque is interesting as to me it taste a bit like modern laksa base that is pack with different types of ingredient.
Steamed Sea Bass served with Ginger Soy Sauce.
For the mains, you can choose from either one. Roasted Honey Duck served with Kailan, Mushroom & Mandarin Orange Sauce, or Chicken Confit served with Ginger Fried Rice. Love the thick orange sauce and the burnt cinnamon stick is just nice. I cut a piece of duck put into my mouth then take the cinnamon stick suck it along with the meat and it taste much better. Gives you a nice smoky aroma of duck and hint of cinnamon yet mild after taste of sourish orange. if they can infuse that 2 together , would be perfect.
Chicken confit is like our Chicken rice. Nicely done and the chili sauce is spot on.
Sesame Panna Cotta served with Green Tea Ice Cream as the finale dish.
