A dessert shop that hidden in the heart of Bangsar is Upperhouse Kitchen and dessert bar that located at level 1 (just right above Alexis). Been here couple of times for their dessert and it is still good. One of a cafe that serve pretty good dessert with reasonable price.
Simple interior that give you a nice place to chill and chit chat. This is even more ideal especially for moms that would want a gathering space yet their kids can play around. They do offer kids play area. Also found that they are quite attentive too. They do have rail on the top of the ceiling which I believe for breast feeding area. So its quite a good place for family to hang out.
Sweet Potato Latte @ RM 12 , Hot Mocha @ RM 12
This round, back to check out their hot food.
Honey Fried Chicken @ RM 22 Buttermilk Chicken, Honey Syrup Glaz. Love the glaze syrup that top ontop of the chicken that makes it slightly unique in taste compare to others where it has a combination of sweet and salty..
Mushroom Aglio Olio @ RM 20 – Shitake, Enoki, Chili Flakes, Button Mushroom Tempura
Ham & Cheese Sandwich @ RM 28 Housemade Brioche, Ham, Mozarella, Bechamel, Salad is one of my favourite. As the brioche is made from scratch. Chef made it himself then serve with mozarella cheese on the top. Something simple yet satisfying if you are a cheese lover.
Salted Egg Yolk Prawn @ RM25 is one of my favourite. Not too overpowering yet it is best to advise to share. Creamy enough to my liking.
These are the desserts that mostly I am here for. Their presentation and technical skills in platting up one dessert dish is pretty amazing.
Tiramisu @ RM 23 Baileys Ice Cream, Matcha Coral Sponge, Chili Raspeberry Jelly, Coffee Caviar, KitKat (Tiramisu flavour), Meringue
Pina Colada @ RM 23 Roselle Ice Cream/Lemon Crunch, Vanilla Sponge, Rum Infused Nata de Coco, TimTam (Coconut & Lychee flavour), Homemade Granola, Rhubarb Compote, Ginger Toffee
Each of these elements can try separately to enjoy the flavours of it but the actual way to eat it is get a bit of everything onto your spoon then eat it at one go. From there you get to enjoy the harmonious bursting flavour of each element. You will get to taste interesting layers of flavours as it melts in your tongue.
Both have its unique flavour combination as Pina colada brings you element of sourish bitter profile and tiramisu is more on the slightly stronger profile taste.
This is the most interesting one, as I have always see people posted it on Youtube or Facebook for this funny minions sound after taking up the air. Now, they do have Edible Helium Balloon @ RM 15 to mark their *Upperhouse 2nd Anniversary Special (RM18 with black coffee). This is quite a technical dessert to do, as the amount of ingredient to make the ballon grow in a certain size have to be in right texture. It is certainly not easy. Growing is one thing and hoking it up with string is another trick. It is very easy to pop if not handle with care.
Quite funny though as this is my minion voice.
Felt that the price I am paying for these is pretty reasonable as there are alot of elements in each dish. One of a good dessert bar or dessert cafe in KL. Love their watermelon cake too.
