There is definately alot of buzz going on for this shop. Still located at Publika as the previous outlet used to be Fierce Curry House and now the new conversion to Meat the Porkers, which made them the first Porky Indian Restaurant. One of their dish that had won many Indian food lovers is one of their signature – Siew Yuk Briyani Rice. Yup. You got it right! Siew Yuk Briyani.
For a Friday night, we have to make a reservation as the place is getting more well known to many food lovers out there.
Had Masala tea to start off with and I have had better ones before. For a classic cuppa of Masala Tea, I prefer this shop. @ RM 7
One of the starter that we hit on and instantly got hook is Papadam with mint sauce. Fresh crispy piece with their home blend fragrant minty sauce is indeed a great combination that will keep you mouth biting till it ends.
Since this is a porky place, we hit all the notes with pork. Starting off with Tandoori Pork Ribs @ RM 48. Mariation of pork is not bad however I think it can be further enhance on the cooking time. Slightly lack of flavour but ten their condiments at the side is awesome that do bring back the flavour.
I think this dish is slightly fusion. Spice and flavour is not that strong, Pork 65 Masala is ideal for those who love slightly lighter taste of marination.@ RM 28
Butter Pork is one of my favourite where the gravy is thick enough to my liking and love the creamy texture of it. A great combination of flavour with tomato, butter and spices. I add it on with my nan and rice. @ RM 28 – Recommended~
This is the signature dish – Siew Yoke Briyani @ RM 28. On the top it might look plain with pork skin. As when you dip into the base, there is where you will find good amount of siew yuk in it. It is like a hidden treasure. Love the combination of briyani rice and the base flavour of it, is indeed fragrant. I personally think that I would be even better if have a great mix of some at the base and a few pieces on the top. As the siew yuk have a well balance of fats.
Pork Sheekh Kebab is not bad as it need to squeeze with some lime as I personally think it is too dry for me. @ RM 28
The Pork Masala Quesadilla @ RM 25
Bacon Cheese Naan @ RM 15 is another order not to be miss. It is rare you would get this combination in any of the Indian restaurant. Flavour is not bad as I dip it along with Butter Pork Gravy.
Pricing of this place is definitely on the steep side as if you do not mind to spend more compare to your usual Indian fare. According to my friend that had dine this place on the 3rd time, they mention that at the moment there are slight inconsistency as during weekend, the taste is slightly mild as compare to weekdays. Advise is do come weekdays which is lesser crowd and you will get to enjoy their flavour more.
Still worth to give it a try at least once to judge for yourself.
