Klang is like another new dimension where I would not drive there unless for a specific reasons. I was persuaded to come along to try out this home cook Hakka food place in this new neighbourhood, Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang
It is a pretty straight forward kind of dining and only 2 page of menu for you to flip through.
Moving back slightly, how it all got started is by their well know Yong Tau fu Series and since then move with Hakka and local cuisine.
Hakka Pork Vineger Trotter is one of a classic dish that the chef had learn from. To us, we are used to heavy ginger however the original taste for this is end with mild sweetness for it. It is all cook to perfection where ingredients in it is soft, tender and juicy. @ RM 15 for small and RM 30 for big
Another chef recommendation dish would be classic Hakka dish know was Yam Abacus @ RM 12 for small, RM 22 for big. This dish might look small in portion, however the dept of the bowl is deep and using nearly pure yam ingredients, wit hours of cooking to make it soft, slightly chewy and along with mince pork sauce will automatically keep you going.
Hakka Braised Pork @ RM 12 for small, RM 24 for big.
Slightly off from their authentic dish is their Rendang Pork @ RM 12 for small, RM 24 for big. Mild spicy, yet curry fragrant and pork is cook to soft and tender is something that will goes very well with rice.
Sotong Sambal Petai serve with sizzling plate @ RM 18 for Small, RM 36 for big.
Another signature style cooking which is their Red Snapper cook in Hakka Style. Gravy is not too salty, just nice to go along with rice, you can taste the sweetness from fish and its a perfect balance.
One of a highly recommended by their staff and also would be by me is their Salted Egg Stuffed Taufupok @ RM 12 for small and RM 24 for big. I can finish the big plate by myself, as it is cook to perfection, well coated salted egg yolk on the side and right in the middle it is stuff with mince pork.
their very own Assam Pranw with sizzling plate.
Another classic version is their Signature Mantis Prawn Salted Egg @ RM 16 for small, RM 30 for big. The difference of the ingredient use with be their mantis prawn as they are using slightly better qualities and the white version. So when it is cook, the salted egg is hard to stick onto the prawn and after a while, it might turn slightly soggy. Mantis prawn is fresh!
One of my favorite drink in this place is their Home Made Ice Lemon Tea. The catch of this is their tea as they are using Pu Er tea as the tea base. Refreshing, yet simple.
Love their whole series of food which I think it is worth to drop by for a try. Interesting enough as the chef do not use any MSG.
