Yellow Brick Road is sitting in this new premises Batai Village which is a new development in this commercial & housing area that had made an instant impact to the area. With so many social media hype over their food and constant queue during weekdays lunch and crazy crowd over weekend had made them one of a top brunch spot to visit over this few months.
Decided to drop by over early Sunday and it was 10.30 am and the queue is pretty long with average waiting time of 20-40 minutes. Super peak, do expect to wait at least 1 hour. Apparently I thought they are 2 different outlet one which is Yellow Brick Road and the other one is Wicked Pancake Parlour, however they are the same management,
We were seated upstairs which is the section of Wicked Pancake Parlour. Love the ambiance of the place as its crafted with good quality of wooden palates as ceiling and wall decor and crates as their bar drinks counter. Its a kids friendly place on level one with story books, colouring items, pony ride which are items from IKEA to make parents to dine in comfort yet they can overlook on their children in this area.
I am certainly impress with their offerings as they do really stood out compare to any other brunch place.
Pancakes are their main highlights too as I see so many hype about them.
Not many places offer Chai Latte @ RM 10 however this is cleverly done as they add on a cinnamon stick for you and I use it as a stirrer. Love the medium smell of the spice that make it quite decent for our market as many people are still yet to accept this drink.
Baked Eggs @ RM 24 are pretty decent as their version are meant to let the top part to be slightly over baked to make it look little burn and the crust of it, however when you dip in, its pretty soft and fresh with all the ingredients in there. Clever cooking.
You might find this weird, as indeed it is quite a unique combination. The Kimchi Scram @ RM 20 – Croissant with Kimchi + Seaweed Scramble Egg. Not really my type of breakfast I would go for.
Latte is mild to my liking and to pair with my food ordering is just nice. @ RM 11
For me, this would be the highlight as they cleverly play with flavours. I Wanna be Kaya @ RM 22 – French Toast with Poached Pear, Coconut Mascarpone Cheese & Caramel Kaya Sauce Topped with Mix Nuts. You will get a mixture of salty, sweet and sour. Loving it.
For picture or instagram purpose then their pancake series will certainly make it look pretty as I see many of their pancakes are presented nicely. Mine is Chocoholics Anonymous @ RM 26 – Chocolate pancake served with Pistachios, Chocolate shavings, Caramelise Beef Bacon Strips, Fresh Berries, Guinness/ Nutella Sauce & a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream I choose Guinness as the dressing to give it a bit of malt and mild bitter end as the combination I think its a bit too unique for me and we agree that Nutella might be a better option.
Among a few brunch place that I have tried, indeed this place gives you a new lift with their offerings and presentation. Food might not be very fantastic however is worth to give it a try as do prepare to dig deeper into your pockets.
