Outback Steakhouse is a restaurant name that rings in my head quite often, and I guess some other people like me do have the confusion that is the one at Jalan Ampang, is it the same? Well the other brand is San Francisco Steak House which is totally different.
I also often bump into this brand when I travel to places like Australia/Indonesia as they do have branches there and my friend often say lets try something else as its very common for them.
First time entering to this outlet only realise that this is their second outlet which located at the Main Entrance opposite Brickfields and third which is coming soon. They orginally started at Bukit Bintang Park in 2001 which is next to Lowyat or Sungei Wang Plaza.
After sitting in there, I am slightly confuse and ask a question which is “is this Australian francise or US”? Then here goes the story as the owner were inspired by the hit movie Crocodile Dundee, Outback Steakhouse was conceptualized as an American outlet with an Australian theme.
Design in a simple and cozy which is a perfect place for gathering, family and friends.
Price range is very similar to their competitors. .
As we kick of with their first appetizer and I am in love with it. Served with the huge portion of tortilla chips accompanied by Spinach Artichoke Dip (a creamy blend of spinach, artichokes, Monterey Jack and Parmesan cheeses, baked until bubbly). @ RM27.95
I just cant stop till it is finish and their spinach dip artichoke is a bomb! If this is available to bring into movie is just perfect.
Crispy Fried Mushroom goes well with beer, as its simple and easy to eat. Their dip is good! @ RM24.95
Kookaburra Wings @ RM15.95. The chicken wings tossed in a bold, savory blend of secret spices and paired with creamy Blue Cheese dressing and celery.
Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie @ RM24.95. The fresh and succulent shrimps sprinkled with seasonings and delicately grilled, served with homemade remoulade sauce.
Heading to the mains – Grilled Salmon @ RM39.95, that is perfectly seasoned and grilled. Serve along with healthy seasonal veggies and a bed of rice pilaf. Love the way how they grilled the salmon, which is slightly cook on the outside and inside is soft and juicy.
Alice Springs Chicken is a interesting dish @ RM35.95. Combination of flamed-grilled chicken breast topped with sautéed mushrooms, crispy beef bacon, melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese and finished with honey mustard sauce. Impress that the breast is still moist and bacon is juicy.
If you love some combination : then I would recommend – Outback Steak and Seafood Mixed Grill @ RM59.95. Good balance of 6oz sirloin paired with freshly seared shrimps and quite a decent size of succulent scallops on a bed of diced mango salsa. – Recommended~
Ribeye – (8oz) @ RM56.95 – Seasoned and seared with the secret 17 seasoning blend or char-grilled over an open flame. It is well-marbled, comes to my liking when its cooked medium rare.
If you are a meat lover then this would be a good choice as it is served in thick meat for Outback Special 8 oz @ RM49.95
Toowoomba Topped Sirloin is another bomb @ RM59.95. Perfect seasoning and comes with two freshly made sides.
Finally, here comes two of their signature dessert: Chocolate Thunder from Down Under @ RM19.95. An extra generous pecan brownie is topped with rich vanilla ice cream, drizzle with warm chocolate sauce and finished with chocolate shavings and whipped cream.
Cinnamon Oblivion @ RM17.95 – Vanilla ice cream topped with fresh, warm cinnamon apples, cinnamon croutons, pecans, caramel sauce and whipped cream.
Find their food is pretty good and will sure return back. Worth to give it a try.
