In this neighbourhood, constantly you will find your favourite restaurant over here. It had known as a hidden gem place for your comfort food. There are a few establishment that had gain its regular even though they are hidden in this big neighbourhood, Bangsar.
It was over last weekend where I owe my friend a meal of belated birthday meal and I must say that I am lucky enough to find this new establishment which I believe just open its door recently. Lucky Bo serve fusion food with limited choices menu which I think its pretty good enough yet interesting.
Love the ambiance of the outlet as its pretty straight forward, comfort yet direct with a little hint of grocery joint on the wall of main dining area.
Their main dining area is like a big table of your family dining area with 2 lovely candle place right at the middle. Right behind it where the comfort dining seating is.
They have open concept kitchen too you to check on the chef cooking if you wish.
Cakes do look pretty decent and will surely be back and try them out.
Here you go, some of the products on the shelf for you to buy.
Great selection of Japanese Whisky too.
For a start in the afternoon, its not too early to go for cocktail. The one in Nikka glass is actually Lemon Lime Bitters @ RM 10, Its not the best so far but certainly beat a few places that I have tried. The one in the wine glass is actually a cocktail known as Kuching Mule @ RM 18 – Tuak, Ice Cream Soda & Lemon. A great drink for hot afternoon. Refreshing, maybe some of you might find the tuak is too heavy for you.
Its hardly for me to say no when I see Ed’s Spaghetti Tuak Vongole @ RM 22. Instead of using white wine, they used tuak for the taste which I think is quite interesting. Best of all the spaghetti is cook to perfection which is al-dante where by their spaghetti is slightly thicker than usual. Clams I find it uneven where some are fresh and some are not, overall they are generous with their clams portion.
What caught my attention next in the menu is Roasted Miso – Peanut Butter Salmon in a bed of roasted potato and rockets at the side @ RM 28. I must say I am impress with this simple presentation and what caught me is their salmon is cook to perfection whereby its slightly pink in the middle, meat is so soft fresh and aromatic. A hint of slightly salty miso and peanut at the end. Indeed a great dish to go along with my Kuching Mule.
[update 9/10/2o15]: I went again for their salmon, found its not consistant as the portion I had that night is smaller, changed to mini potato balls and flavor quite disappointing as compare to my first visit which is 6 days ago.]
As recommended, their Nasi Lemak @ RM 12.50 is their must order dish in the menu. I rarely would order this in a restaurant however why not give it try. Lovely fragrance rice with a mild milky coocnut end, prawns are great as its fresh and cook well, sambal ikan bilis is perfect whereby its not too spicy yet will suits many diners taste bud. Indeed its a terrific dish! – recommended for such price and quality
End my meal with coffee which I think its not bad, not too acidic yet strong arabica taste. I usually do not drink my coffee with sugar however this round I decide to add on half cube of brown sugar and to my suprise it taste better. You can try that out.
For such price and quality they serve here, I am certainly will be back to try out a few more dishes. Its a great comfort food.
