Awww, I must say I found my new love for dessert. I guess we have many trend going on and I believe homemade ice cream is the latest trend that alot of people are venturing into. With many prominent ice cream provider such as FortyLicks, InsideScoop and now with IDC Ice Dream Cafe had made it top in my list with their creative desserts worth to hunt for.
Reading on other blogs, it seems that it is inspired by New Zealand’s Kapiti ice cream to create this brand out.
Their interior is rather simple and after staring it for a while, it gives me the impression of a green house concept.
A cozy seating home arrangement style at all the way to the back of the cafe.
I was told by one of the staff that everything is made fresh from their kitchen which they have plenty of unique flavours and its a clever flavour combination that they have done up. Not only that, the naming onto each ice cream is very creative too.
Their menu is very straight forward but if you do read it carefully, it is very playful. It looks like they are ordinary scoops of the rich, creamy ice cream in an affogato, with waffles and crepes, or maybe classic sandwich, however they are not.
I always love to try my classic with waffles with one scoop of ice cream @ RM 16. A new found love of a perfect done up waffle. Love the perfect crust with slight crips to my liking, and there is a slight unique taste that definitely make it stood out compare with others out there and I top with one of their signature Ice cream for the day, Hokey Pokey which is honey inspired. (do note that their ice cream do change from time to time and this flavour might not be available) Love the texture of ice cream which is smooth, slightly creamy yet burst with flavours. To pair with their coffee is rather interesting. Love the richness of arabica flavours that brings you back to classic kopitiam coffee taste bud yet a well balance of slight acidity at the end that balance it up and goes really well with my waffle and ice cream.
If you think you have your taste bud tested, why not hunt after their playful Infused Affogato’s @ RM 12. There are 7 flavours in total and I ordered mine with one of their signature which is Orange Zest. I must say the flavours are amazing, with a well balance of orange zest that brings you the freshness and mild sour end on your taste bud, yet their perfect affogato coffee flavour did not over power it yet my tongue can detect a nice balance of chocolate ice cream and great chocolate chip to bite after. IMPRESSIVE on how they did up the right balance of flavours for each layer.
I was here to test 2 items and ended up it got me continue to order one of their super signature item which is
Welsh Cakes @ RM 15 – Cranberry and lavender infused welsh cakes served with kapiti vintage Strawberry ice cream, topped with drizzled Honey and peppercorn sprinkles. Nothing much for me to elaborate as the flavours are amazing and left for me to say – a highly recommended item in the list.
For a home grown brand, I am certainly impress with the creativity and quality of it. This outlet at the moment sits in my top 2 spot for best homemade ice cream .
If you ever craving for unique flavours of ice cream, this would be a highly recommended place for me.
